In response to the directives of the DA Secretary to develop the food safety program in Ilocos Region, DA-RFO I’s Regional Food Safety Team with Dr. Jegie A. Malicdem, Ms. Filomena Bugaoan and Ms. Rizza Mae Baldonado, conducted an ocular visit and familiarization of pesticide testing laboratory located in Nueva Vizcaya Agricultural Terminal (NVAT) in Bambang, Nueva Vizcaya on October 4-6,2021.
The team also visited the BCA Laboratories of DARFO II located at Nueva Vizcaya Experiment Station, Cagayan Valley Research Center, and RCPC BCA Laboratory in Cagayan.
The purpose of the said visit is to be able to develop similar state-of-the-art project by DA-RFO I thru a project proposal for the establishment of Pesticide Residue Testing Laboratory to be established in the provinces of Ilocos Sur and Pangasinan.
