Another set of beneficiaries under the Balik Probinsiya, Bagong Pag-asa (BP2) Program of the Department of Agriculture have been given their interventions to jumpstart their own agri-businesses.

In a distribution ceremony held simultaneously in the Municipalities of Agno, Aguilar, Burgos and Sta. Barbara, Pangasinan on September 30, 2022, a total of 1,618 Dekalb free-range chicken were handed over to 46 individuals and four associations.

Norman Bahit, president of Alombangan Farmers Association of Agno, Pangasinan expressed his gratitude to the department for giving them a source of livelihood amid the pandemic.

“Masaya kami dahil mayroon kaming dagdag na pagkakakitaan lalo na ang asawa ng mga kasama naming magsasaka na walang trabaho,” Bahit said.
Before receiving said interventions, the BP2 beneficiaries have undergone a series of trainings and lectures.

Beneficiaries under the BP2 program are members of families who were repatriated from Metro Manila and other nearby provinces since the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic with the government’s aim of decongesting highly urbanized areas. ###
