To enhance support for young agripreneurs, the Young Farmers Challenge Program (YFCP) of the Department of Agriculture – Regional Field Office I (DA-RFO I), led by YFCP Focal Person Ms. Rhoda Galban, conducted a Project Assessment and Evaluation on January 31, 2025, at the DA-RFO I Conference Room.

The activity gathered Local Government Units (LGUs), Farmer Cooperatives and Associations (FCAs), and YFC awardees to foster collaboration and assess project progress. Discussions focused on strengthening connections between FCAs and YFCP awardees, alongside the presentation of documentary accomplishments, enterprise progress reports, and liquidation reports from past awardees.

In addition, the event featured a briefing on the Business Development Assistance (BDA) guidelines of YFCP. This ensures that the program continues to support both emerging start-ups and the sustained participation of young individuals in agribusiness.

According to Ms. Galban, the YFCP serves two key purposes: The Young Farmers Challenge Program is designed for the youth who have innovative ideas in the agri-fishery sector. It also extends beyond awardees by offering business development opportunities to other young individuals interested in agribusiness.”
