Regional Agriculture and Fisheries Information Section (RAFIS) of the Department of Agriculture Regional Field Office One (DA-RFO1) held a three-day workshop on 𝗦𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗠𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗮 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗔𝗱𝘃𝗼𝗰𝗮𝗰𝘆 𝗶𝗻 𝗔𝗴𝗿𝗶𝗰𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 for DA staffs at Ynad’s Place, City of San Fernando, La Union, on September 4-6, 2024.

Resource Person 𝗘𝗻𝗴𝗿. 𝗝𝗼𝗵𝗻 𝗞𝗶𝗿𝗯𝘆 𝗚. 𝗦𝗮𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗼, Information Officer of the Department of Public Work and Highways (DPWH), otherwise known as 𝗧𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗶𝟲𝟬 in social media, immersed participants in the world of social media, its management, strategies, content, tricks, development, and tools that will help DA offices in information dissemination for agricultural concerns.

The workshop included topics such as using social media in agriculture, discussing effective social media strategies, content development, tools and analytics, engagement tricks, marketing, crisis management, and legal and ethical considerations with plenty of group activities to test DA officers’ ability in social media management, inviting different offices to be part of RAFIS’ creed in providing useful information for farmers, fisherfolk, stakeholders, and the Filipino people.

The 3-day training ended with the awarding of certificates to the resource speaker and participants and Ms. Vida Cacal’s jest to fellow DA staff: “𝘠𝘰𝘶 𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘙𝘈𝘍𝘐𝘚 𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘧𝘧 𝘯𝘰𝘸!”
