Headed by the Gender and Development (GAD) Program of the Department of Agriculture Regional Field Office One (DA-RFO1) under the leadership of GAD Focal, Ms. Edilyn C. Goldara, around seventy (70) women of agriculture, LGUs, representatives, and Farmer Cooperatives and Associations (FCA) members, convened at the J & V Hotel and Resort, City of San Fernando, La Union on October 9-10, 2024 for the training entitles โ€œRural Women Convention cum Planning Workshop on Gender Needs and Agricultural Development.โ€

Several Banner Program Focals were invited as resource speakers to inform participants about various DA programs and services such as ones involving rice, corn, high value crops, livestock, Kadiwa, and the CSO accreditation. All of which would be useful in nurturing the growth and success of the invited members of farmer clusters highlighting the outreach to women farmer cooperatives and associations.

The convention also led way for the 3-Year Plan for the Gender Needs Assessment and Planning Workshop wherein GAD, PMED, and Banner focals and representatives answered queries regarding said plans all the while exchanging inputs in the needs of various sectors.

The event was concluded by the afternoon of October 10 through the awarding of certificates.
