The Regional Project Coordination Office 1 (RPCO 1), through its Geomapping and Governance Unit (GGU), takes the monitoring of enterprise subprojects to the next level with another innovation using the Applied Geotagging Technology (AGT).
Through the I-REAP SMIS, the PRDP and other stakeholders can monitor the utilization and operation of awarded enterprise subprojects. For example, the number of members and non-members who used PRDP-awarded machinery and the hectares covered by the machinery can be monitored with the I-REAP SMIS.
The I-REAP SMIS was piloted with the Farm Service Mechanization Facility (Small Livelihood Project) of Talogtog Multi-Purpose Cooperative in San Juan, La Union in August 2020.
The I-REAP SMIS was presented as among the best practices of the PRDP in Ilocos Region during the 11th World Bank Implementation Support Mission.
The I-REAP SMIS will be adopted by the Cluster Office in monitoring the impact of enterprise subprojects in North Luzon.
Mr. Leomark Baldoz, GGU Project Development Associate, developed the I-REAP SMIS under the supervision of GIS Specialist Deo Rivera and Joseph James Flores. He also developed other AGT applications like Geovideo and Geodata Organizer. #
