As part of an effort to revitalize the livestock industry, the Department of Agriculture – Regional Field Office 1, through the Livestock Banner program, awarded a P10 million check to the Local Government Unit of Bayambang, Pangasinan for the Swine Clustering Project entitled “Community Based Swine Production through Clustering and Consolidation” today, July 24, at Bayambang’s Event Center in Bayambang, Pangasinan.

In attendance were Bayambang Vice Mayor Ian Camille Sabangan, along with Municipal Treasurer Ms. Luisita Danan, Bayambang councilors, and Bayambang Poverty Reduction Action Team, Pangasinan APCO Dr. Marvin Quilates, Ms. Jerlyn Labatete of the Livestock Banner Program, and Ms. Jasmin Artates-Pareja from the Cashiering Section.

The DA’s Integrated National Swine Production Initiatives For Recovery and Expansion (INSPIRE) program, which includes the Php10 million fund grant, aims to increase local swine inventories of pork by producing heads finishers while also providing an additional source of food and income to farmer members.
