First day of the activity was held today, June 21 at the agency’s conference room with topics on vegetable production – from site and variety selection, seedling production, land preparation, planting, trellising, and fertilizing to harvesting.

Farmers’ training will conclude by tomorrow with discussions on the module and procedures for acquiring Philippine Good Agricultural Practices certification, a program being promoted by DA to guarantee food safety and high quality of agricultural products while maintaining high regard for environmental protection and farmers’ occupational safety.
