A total of 3,564 rice farmers received Php5,000 cash assistance totaling Php17,820,000 from the Department of Agriculture’s Rice Competitiveness Enhancement Fund-Rice Farmers Financial Assistance (RCEF-RFFA) program, while 4,349 farmers received fertilizer discount vouchers totaling Php10,249,944 on February 24, 2023 at the Vintar Civic Center in Vintar, Ilocos Norte. The distribution were attended by First District Representative Ferdinand Alexander “Sandro” Marcos, Mayor Richard Degala, Vice Mayor Maribel Albano, DA-RFO1 Regional Technical Director for Operations Engr. Dennis Tactac and DA-RFO1 Rice Focal person Ms. Leah Coloma. Also in attendance were the Municipal councilors and FOD Rice Banner Program staff.
