The Luzon A Project Support Office recognized the Enterprise Development (I-REAP) Component in Ilocos Region for having the best cumulative financial performance and for having the highest completion rate for enterprise subprojects in North Luzon Cluster during a Management Meeting at the Department of Agriculture 5th Conference Room, San Fernando City, La Union on Feb 09, 2021.
In spite of the challenges posed by the Corona Virus Disease 2019 pandemic in the implementation of enterprise subprojects, Ilocos Region’s I-REAP Component disbursed Php26 million in CY 2020. The additional disbursement raised the cumulative disbursement of I-REAP in Ilocos Region to Php106.4 million in CY 2020 or 92% average obligation and disbursement.
The high cumulative obligation and disbursement performance are prompted by the award of subproject packages for the garlic enterprise of Bacarra Zanjera Irrigators Multi-Purpose Cooperative in Bacarra, Ilocos Norte; goat enterprise of Kailian Multi-Purpose Cooperative in Lidlidda, Ilocos Sur; bangus enterprise to the Integrated Small Fishpond Owners and Lessees MPC in Binmaley, Pangasinan; mango enterprise of the Pal-lim Multi-purpose Cooperative in Bauang, La Union; and tomato enterprise of the Tugui Grande Fresh Produce Farmers Association in Bani, Pangasinan.
Aside from its commendable financial status, Ilocos Region’s Enterprise Component also has the highest completion rate in terms of cost and number. Sixty out of the 66 enterprise subprojects in Ilocos Region have been completed, giving Php84.4 million worth of enterprise subprojects to beneficiaries.
The Enterprise Development Component in Ilocos Region has received awards in North Luzon Cluster for three consecutive years.
