As of July 2, 2021, 102,382 farmer recipients have benefited from the P245-million worth fertilizer e-vouchers released by DA RFO 1 for the 2020-2021 dry cropping season under the Rice Resiliency Project 2 (RRP 2).
The total allocation of DA Region 1 under the program is P252,700,000 with a total target area of 106,350 hectares. Out of the given e-vouchers, P238.458 million was already claimed by 98,784 farmers from the region.
The RRP 2 is part of the Plant, Plant, Plant Program, which aims to increase local rice and rice production in the country to combat the threat of food insufficiency especially with the onslaught of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Other than fertilizers, the DA has also provided palay seeds to farmer recipients of e-vouchers with 86,258 hybrid and 19,541 certified seeds distributed.
The e-vouchers released amounts to P3000 and P2000 worth of fertilizers for every hectare of hybrid and inbred seeds, respectively.
Through this scheme, the farmers can procure inorganic fertilizers of their preference at any accredited merchants, dealers, and distributors of agricultural supply.
Farmers who received their e-vouchers are those who are registered under the Registry System for Basic Sector in Agriculture (RSBSA) while those who are not yet registered are urged to enroll through their City/Municipal Agriculture Office to benefit from DA’s programs and projects.
