Providing more marketing outlets for farmers’ produce and at the same time offering more fresh and affordable agri-fishery products to consumers, the Department of Agriculture-Regional Field Office I conducted a retail selling through the Kadiwa on Wheels in Nagbukel town on Monday, September 5, 2022.
A regular activity by the Agribusiness and Marketing Assistance Division (AMAD), in collaboration this time with the Provincial Government of Ilocos Sur and the local government unit of Nagbukel, a total of 920 kgs. of assorted commodities were sold generating a total sales of P191,000.00.
Among the agri-fishery products sold were fish and fish products (718 kg.), assorted vegetables (98 kg.), meat and processed products (76.8 kg.), rice (26.93 kg.) including 1,500 pieces of eggs.
Participated in by 10 farmers and fisherfolk cooperatives and associations as well as 11 micro, small and medium enterprises, the retail selling activity of the DA through AMAD is in response to the farmers’ clamor of providing market for their produce and at the same time giving better alternative for the consumers to buy accessible and affordable agri-fishery products.#
