Twelve Farmers Associations and Cooperative Members from the 1st and 2nd district of La Union received a total of Php11.7 million worth of Agri-machineries and equipment distributed by the Department of Agriculture-Regional Field Office 1 on July 13,2022 at the Ilocos Region Integrated Agricultural Research Center (ILIARC) in Sapilang, Bacnotan, La Union.
544 units of various Agri-machineries and equipment were turned-over to the farmers by the DA-RFO1 La Union validation team headed by Mr. Rodolfo M. Estrada, Jr., Agricultural Programs Coordinating Officer (APCO) for La Union, and through the assistance of the 3 banner programs of the Field Operations Division – Rice, Corn, HVCDP. Of the 544 units distributed, 4 units are 4 Wheel drive tractors, 2 units Combined Harvester, 1 Corn Husker – Sheller, 4 units Hand Tractors, 4 units Multi-Purpose Cultivator, 29 units Pump and Engine sets and 500 Plastic Crates.
Also present in the distribution were the Municipal Agriculturists of Balaoan and Luna, Agricultural Technicians from San Juan, Bagulin, Balaoan, and officers and members of recipient farmers association.
