The Department of Agriculture-Regional Field Office I thru Balik Probinsya Bagong Pag-asa (BP2) Program together with the Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University once again spearheaded a two-day training on Financial Management and Bookkeeping for the Province of Ilocos Norte on October 3-4, 2022 at JLP Paoay Lake, Paoay, Ilocos Norte.
A total of 27 out of 20 targeted farmer-participants which included the AEWs from the different municipalities of Ilocos Norte for BP2/AMIA villages, actively participated in the said training.
The training includes workshops on identifying business along the value chain, farm record keeping, and bookkeeping. Also, topics discussed included concepts on agribusiness financial literacy wherein Filipino values along agriculture and finance, and trends and development in agribusiness literacy were given emphasis. Business model canvass, financial management ethics, taxation for cooperatives and associations, importance of cooperatives, and DA’s lending programs were presented.
Partnered with the AMIA program, the activity also aims to mainstream climate change mitigation strategies in agriculture to be adopted by BP2 recipients.
