The Department of Agriculture-Regional Field Office I (DA-RFO 1), through its Agribusiness and Marketing Assistance Division (AMAD), awarded financial grants to the Local Government Units (LGUs) of Bantay, Ilocos Sur, and Basista, Pangasinan today, February 10, 2025.

OIC-Regional Executive Director Dr. John B. Pascual, together with Regional Technical Director for Operations Engr. Dennis I. Tactac, and OIC-AMAD Chief Ms. Rhoda Galban, led the turnover of the grants to the LGU representatives at the DA-RFO I Office of the Regional Executive Director. The Municipality of Basista, Pangasinan, received ₱2 million for the Agri-Products Delivery Support to Local Farmers, accepted by Municipal Agriculturist Mr. Anthony F. Resultay. Meanwhile, the Municipality of Bantay, Ilocos Sur, was granted ₱5 million for the Farmers’ Transport Vehicle and Marketing Logistics Services, with Municipal Agriculturist Mr. Jordan R. Briones receiving the check on behalf of the LGU.

For many farmers, the challenge is not just growing crops but also getting them to consumers while still fresh and in good condition. These grants will provide much-needed transport solutions, ensuring that high-quality, farm-fresh produce reaches markets faster, reducing losses and increasing profits for hardworking farmers.
