Over 70 farmers and farmer representatives, 13 Farmers Associations, and 10 Department of Agriculture Local Government Units (DA-LGU) benefited from the distribution of DA interventions held in the Department of Agriculture – Pangasinan Research and Experiment Center (DA-PREC), Sual, Pangasinan on May 23, 2024.

Headed by the Department of Agriculture – Regional Field Office One (DA-RFO1) through its Field Operation Division (FOD) Banner Programs, distributed various equipment, fertilizers, hybrid seeds, pesticides, and fuel subsidies to various farming groups for the 1st District of Pangasinan. For the Rice Banner Program, the DA-RFO1 allocated a total of Php 85,484,760.00; for the Corn Banner program, Php 2,185,125.00 was allocated; for the High Value Crops Development Program (HVCDP), Php 632,166; for the National Urban and Peri-Urban Agriculture Program (NUPAP), Php 256,030.00; for the Adaptation, Mitigation Initiative in Agriculture (AMIA), Php 359,520.00; and Php 119,700.00 for fuel Subsidy Cards. As of May 2023, the DA-RFO1 provided interventions worth a total of Php 89,037,301.00 granted to the 1st Congressional District of Pangasinan.

With these interventions and projects granted, the DA-RFO1 Regional Executive Director Annie Q. Bares stated, “𝘞𝘦 𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘳𝘥 𝘭𝘢𝘳𝘨𝘦𝘴𝘵 𝘳𝘦𝘨𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘪𝘯 𝘓𝘶𝘻𝘰𝘯 𝘪𝘯 𝘢𝘨𝘳𝘪𝘤𝘶𝘭𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘦; 𝘚𝘢𝘯𝘢 𝘴𝘢 𝘴𝘶𝘴𝘶𝘯𝘰𝘥 𝘯𝘢 𝘵𝘢𝘰𝘯, 𝘯𝘢𝘯𝘥𝘪𝘵𝘰 𝘱𝘢 𝘳𝘪𝘯 𝘵𝘢𝘺𝘰 𝘴𝘢 𝘱𝘢𝘨𝘴𝘪𝘭𝘣𝘪 𝘴𝘢 𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘴𝘦𝘬𝘵𝘰𝘳, 𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘥𝘪 𝘭𝘢𝘯𝘨 𝘥𝘪𝘵𝘰 𝘴𝘢 𝘗𝘢𝘯𝘨𝘢𝘴𝘪𝘯𝘢𝘯, 𝘬𝘶𝘯𝘨 ‘𝘥𝘪 𝘴𝘢 𝘣𝘶𝘰𝘯𝘨 𝘙𝘦𝘨𝘪𝘰𝘯 1. 𝘚𝘢𝘯𝘢 𝘪𝘵𝘰𝘯𝘨 𝘱𝘢𝘯𝘨𝘢𝘭𝘢𝘨𝘢𝘢𝘯, 𝘱𝘢𝘨𝘣𝘶𝘵𝘪𝘩𝘪𝘯, 𝘢𝘵 𝘮𝘢𝘩𝘢𝘭𝘪𝘯 𝘯𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘯 𝘢𝘯𝘨 𝘮𝘨𝘢 𝘢𝘨𝘳𝘪𝘤𝘶𝘭𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘢𝘭 𝘴𝘶𝘱𝘱𝘰𝘳𝘵 𝘯𝘢 𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘢𝘵𝘢𝘯𝘨𝘨𝘢𝘱.”

Farmer partners received said interventions with a mission and a promise to keep upholding the region’s stand in being an agricultural powerhouse. As Dr. Marvin G. Quilates (APCO) for Pangasinan urged the farmer partners to claim, “𝑫𝒊𝒔𝒕𝒓𝒊𝒕𝒐 𝑼𝒏𝒐: 𝑷𝒂𝒏𝒂𝒍𝒐!”
