Breaking the usual process of preparing the Annual Plans and Budget for the development of agri-fishery sector, the Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation Division convened the various stakeholders from the province ot La Union for the 2-day 2026 plan and budget proposals joint planning exercises at the J and V Hotel, City of San Fernando, La Union.
Led by the DA-Ilocos Regional Planning Officer, Ms. Doris Joy Garcia, the planning workshop gathered around 60 individuals from the various government agencies, civil society orgamizations as well as the provincial and local government units in La Union who were briefed on the various plans and programs as well as strategies of DA and its attached agencies alligning with the goals, thrusts and objectives to that of the Sustainable Development Goals of the Marcos administration.
In her brieifing and Opening Remarks, Ms. Garcia emphasized the convergence, collaboration and coordination of various agri development agencies in the implementation of projects towards the attainment of the goals and objectjves of the Masaganang Bagong Pilipinas plan.
All invited agency representatives, such as the National Meat Inspection, the Bureau or Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) and the DA-RFO I’s Field Operations on Rice, Corn High Value Crops, Livestock and Organic Agroculture Programs including its Special Projects such as SAAD, AMIA and 4k Programs presented their priority programs and projects to identify potential collaborative projects.
A workshop and open forum provided a platform for issues and concerns to be tackled and further enhance the needed collaboration and cooperation from among the funding agencies and the recipients of the planned programs and projects ready for implementation.
