“Providing better services to the Filipino people.” This campaign highlights the services provided by the Department of Agriculture in Region 1 in the recent Duterte Legacy: Barangayanihan Caravan held at Brgy. Hacienda Bugallon Pangasinan.
The ‘Duterte Legacy: Barangayanihan Caravan’ is a collaboration with government agencies, as well as volunteers from the Global Coalition of Advocacy Support Groups and Force Multipliers. This also aims to inform the public about the government’s programs, policies, accomplishments, and efforts to bring about real change to the lives of the Filipino people by showcasing real stories from the beneficiaries in their respective localities of the administration’s landmark policies and programs.
As part of the caravan, DA has distributed 1,050 assorted fruit trees, 500 assorted vegetable seeds, 1kg x 100 kgs vermicast, 200 pcs tricanthera cuttings, 200 pcs mulberry cuttings, 200 pcs Napier cuttings.
Information dissemination activities were also showcased to 84 recipients by providing different Information, Education and Communication (IEC) reading materials in order to raise their awareness on the DA initiatives and let them grasp the benefits from it.
Municipal Mayor Priscilla L. Espino of Bugallon Pangasinan welcomed and expressed her thanks to the Provincial Government of Pangasinan including the collaborating agencies to include the Philippine National Police, and the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA)-Pangasinan Provincial Office and the Department of Agriculture (DA) for joining the caravan and offering their basic services such as scholarship programs, food packs and awarding of water pumps.
Meanwhile, as the Duterte Legacy Caravan continues, the DA Ilocos region is now set for the next campaign. It is targeted to provide palay (rice) seeds to Mabini, Pangasinan and around 100 seedlings of fruit-bearing trees such as cacao, sampalok (tamarind), and kasoy (cashew), among others. ###
