Under the joint coordination of the Department of Agriculture Regional Field Office 1 Regulatory Division, Livestock Banner Program, and Planning, Monitoring, and Evaluation Division (PMED), African Swine Fever (ASF) affected hog raisers from San Juan, La Union, and Rosario, La Union were interviewed and surveyed for the Results-Based Monitoring and Evaluation (RBME) on March 18-19, 2025.

A sum total of P755 000.00 was granted to hog raisers last 2024 whose livestock were culled during the height of ASF in 2023, allowing them to receive P5000.00 for each culled hog. The DA went back to check how these grants were used and if it helped the affected hog raisers.

These funds, according to the evaluation, were used by raisers to start again and were allowed to utilize the funds however they wanted. Some used the indemnification funds for restarting their hog raising business, for family basic needs, as capital for other business ventures, or for crop production.
