Giving timely, accurate and responsive business information to budding agri-entrepreneurs in the province of Ilocos Norte, the Department of Agriculture in Ilocos Region through the Agribusiness & Marketing Assistance Division, (AMAD) conducted a one-day Investment Forum cum Credit Matching activity at the Ilocos Norte Research & Extension Center (INREC), Batac City, Ilocos Norte on September 23, 2022.

An activity participated in by the local government units’ economic and investment promotion officers, planning and development officers as well as municipal agriculturists from the nine municipalities and 2 cities in Ilocos Norte, the investment forum provided an avenue to identify potential commodities for investment as well as the promotion and marketing assistance they need thereby leading to a sustainable business enterprise.

Among the commodities identified by the participants that have potential for investments are rice, corn, pinakbet, ginger, ube and squash.

Correspondingly, the DA-AMAD in partnership with the local government units made available the format of business plan including some major interventions for product development and enterprise that they could possibly tap for possible linkage as well as market network.

Meanwhile, representative of the Agricultural Credit Policy Council in the person of Ms. Florie Mae Lucas discussed credit or loan assistance that the emerging business enterprise could possibly tap to start their agribusiness enterprise.

The Investment Forum is a province-wide activity of AMAD under the Agribusiness Promotion Section.##
