The luckiest among the lucky as she sees herself, Ms. Rhema Joyce B. Mondala is one among the 10 winners of the Success begins at 40K: Best MAYA Micro-Agribusiness Plan.
Out of the 59 agribusiness proposals submitted by MAYA interns nationwide, top 20 finalists virtually pitched their agribusiness plans during the panel presentation and evaluation on June 22, 2021.
The finalists were evaluated based on innovativeness, entrepreneurial attributes, revenue stream, value addition, and presentation and delivery. Each of the 10 winners will receive a cash prize of P40,000.00 to support their business plans.
Mondala’s business plan entitled RJ’s Integrated Vermishroom is the integration of vermicomposting and mushroom production. This will focus on the utilization of agricultural waste materials such as rice straw and corn stover in order to produce a high-value product, which is paddy mushroom while the substrate from the mushroom production will be utilized for vermicomposting.
Other than Ms. Mondala, Mr. Rommel B. Sobrera was awarded as best MAYA intern in region 1. He will receive a cash grant of P7,500.00. 👏👏👏
