The Department of Agriculture-Regional Field Office I (DA-RFO I) thru Regional Technical Director for Operations, Ms. Erlinda F. Manipon, turned-over a check worth P5 million pesos to the City Government of Dagupan, in Pangasinan in support to its Integrated Urban Agriculture Program.

A project under the Plant, Plant, Plant Program of the Bayanihan II, “We Recover As One,” the check was received by Dagupan OIC-City Agriculturist, Mr. Vladimir T. Mata, concurrent to his position as the City Administrator.

The Dagupan’s Integrated Urban Agriculture project aims to strengthen the agricultural information sharing and extension services of the City Agriculture Office through the rehabilitation of plant nurseries, rehabilitation of barangay as well as school-based gardens including the conduct of urban gardening workshops for community stakeholders.

Covering 5 barangays (Brgys. Mangin, Tebeng, Malued, Bulosan and Mamalingling) and 4 schools (Barangay Bonuan Boquig Elementary School, Carael Elementary School, Dagupan City National High School – Senior High and Dagupan City National High School – Junior High), the project shall feature the establishment of greenhouse, irrigation technologies and a “Knowledge Space” that will serve as a satellite City Agriculture Office and will showcase practical technologies on urban agriculture.
