The Department of Agriculture – Regional Field Office I (DA-RFO I) Integrated Laboratories Division (ILD) successfully conducted an outreach activity in San Emilio, Ilocos Sur, on October 30, 2024. The event aimed to enhance agricultural knowledge and provide support for local farmers, even amidst challenging weather conditions.
The outreach offered essential services, including animal health and disease diagnosis and recommendation, crop health and pest diagnosis, distribution of biological control agents (BCAs), soil nutrients analysis and fertilizer recommendations, feed nutrient and aflatoxin analysis and other technical services.
Facilitated by the Regional Animal Disease Diagnostic Laboratory (RADDL), Regional Feed and Chemical Analysis Laboratory (RFCAL), Regional Crop Protection Center (RCPC), and Regional Soils Laboratory (RSL), the activity enabled farmers to receive scientific expertise directly.
Hon. Joey Warren A. Bragado, Mayor of San Emilio, expressed his gratitude to DA-RFO I, thanking the agency for its dedication to helping address the challenges faced by local farmers.
A similar outreach event is scheduled for November 8 in Vintar, Ilocos Norte, where the ILD will continue to provide laboratory services and support to farmers in other remote areas of the region.
