The Department of Agriculture Regional Field Office I (DA RFO 1) convened the 2024 3rd Quarter Regional Management Council (RMC) Meeting on August 27, 2024, at the DA RFO 1 Conference Room.

The meeting gathered representatives from various member agencies to discuss the latest updates, challenges, and solutions in the agriculture sector.

OIC Regional Executive Director John Pascual emphasized the importance of consistent participation in the RMC meetings. He expressed his commitment to โ€œharmonizing and reconciling the efforts of all involved agencies.โ€ Pascual also highlighted the ongoing response to the African Swine Fever (ASF) outbreak, announcing plans to collaborate more closely with livestock groups and strengthen task forces addressing the issue.

During the meeting, several offices provided updates on key issues, including the ASF situation and the status of fisherfolk in the West Philippine Sea. In response to concerns raised by RTD Engr. Dennis Tactac, Regional Director Rosario Segundina Gaerlan reassured the council that fisherfolk in the Ilocos region remain unaffected by the West Philippine Sea conflicts and that those in Pangasinan are safe.

The meeting also covered additional pressing issues, with discussions centered on proposed measures to ensure that all agencies continue to align with their shared mission, vision, and goals for a sustainable and progressive Philippines.##
