In line with its vision of improving farm productivity while reducing the cost of production through the use of new farming machineries and equipment, the Department of Agriculture turned-over a total of Php14.174 million worth of agri-interventions to various farmers’ association in the province of Pangasinan.

Held at the Pangasinan Research and Experiment Center (PREC) in Sta. Barbara, Pangasinan on September 20, 2022, the turn-over ceremony was led by DA-RFO I’s RTD for Operations, Dir. Doris Joy Garcia together with Pangasinan’s 3rd District Congresswoman Rachel Arenas’ representative, Ms. Jessica Guico.

Of the Php14.1 million total worth of interventions, the Rice Banner Program shared the biggest amount of around Php9,970,405.60 followed by High Value Crops Program with Php Php3,025,320 and the Corn Program with Php 599,198.00 worth of interventions. The Livestock Program has likewise distributed 10 units of egg incubator worth Php579,750.00 given to 8 farmer cooperatives and associations and one unit for the Provincial Veterinary Office.

The distributed machineries and equipment were among the remaining units from last year’s purchase, making this as the last distribution activity for this year.###
