Setting the mode of her governance as the newly appointed OIC Regional Executive Director, Atty. Jennilyn M. Dawayan met the members of the Regional Management Staff of DA-RFO I for a meeting at the DA RFO I 5th floor Conference Room, San Fernando City, La Union on August 8-9, 2022.

As her first marching order as DA-RFO I head of office, Atty. Dawayan reiterated the President and Secretary of Department of Agriculture Ferdinand Marcos, Jr.’s tall order of ensuring no food wastage and no food shortage in the country by strengthening the production and marketing assistance to Filipino farmers and fishers.

Finding the essence of having accurate listing of registered farmers thru the Registry System for Basic Sectors (RSBSA), Atty. Dawayan called on the DA-RFO officials especially those involved in the RSBSA program to check the list and ensure that DA assistance is provided to right beneficiaries and funds be faithfully and conscientiously be disbursed.

With the daily report/briefer being required by the DA-CO, Atty. Dawayan supported the move to organize a Technical Working Group who will be tasked to compile and analyze daily reports from all banner programs and operating units prior to submission to the DA-CO.

Looking at the importance of promoting DA’s programs and projects, Atty. Dawayan emphasized the crucial need for regular info dissemination focusing on the stakeholders and other beneficiaries’ testimonies on the various benefits they get from the programs and projects of DA especially on the Rice Farmers Financial Assistance program.

To further encourage participation and commitment among the members of the regional management staff, Atty. Dawayan required a regular conduct of management committee meeting every Monday to improve and properly monitor fund utilization and hasten the implementation of various programs and projects for the agri sector in the region.###
