“Alam po namin na makatutulong itong 5,000, kaya lang hindi tatagal [at] talagang kulang, kailangan pa ng pandagdag kaya kami nalang po sa provincial government ang magbibigay ng mga kailangan po ninyo”, said Ilocos Norte Gov. Matthew Manotoc, Thursday, August 4, 2022.
In his message during the distribution of financial assistance and farm machineries, Gov. Manotoc vowed to augment the aid for farmers by providing additional farm necessities such as soil conditioners, fertilizers, equipment, and machinery.
On the said date, over 2,000 eligible rice farmers in Laoag, Ilocos Norte received their cash aid of 5,000 pesos under the rice farmers’ financial assistance (RFFA) program from the Department of Agriculture.
The Department of Agriculture – Ilocos together with the USSC team, distributed a total amount of 11,422,000 to rice farmer-beneficiaries under the RCEF-RFFA and 4.9-million worth of various machineries.
1st District Representative Sandro Marcos, who was also present, reiterated the importance of agriculture in the whole country. He likewise mentioned that the President is aware of the matter, thus appointing himself as DA chief to give focus on the agri-sector.
Cong. Marcos reassured the farmers that they will not be left behind and that the government will provide continuous support for them.###
