As of May 7, 2020 a total of 332.8 kgs of seeds, and 16,240 seedlings of assorted vegetables with a total worth of P3,341,734.50 has been distributed entire the Ilocos Region by the Department of Agriculture- Regional Field Office I thru the High Value Crops Development Program (HVCDP) as more people are encouraged to embrace DA's campaign on Urban Agriculture which is among the projects being pursued under the Plant Plant Plant program of the national government.
Wrapping up the region-wide consultation-dialogue for the Department of Agriculture’s implementation of the Rice Resiliency Project (RRP) in Region I, the final leg of the activity was held in Ilocos Sur on May 8, 2020 after the DA-RFO I RRP team has visited the provinces of Pangasinan, La Union, and Ilocos Norte for the series of consultation.
The Department of Agriculture through the ACEF-GIAHEP or the Agricultural Competitiveness Enhancement Fund - Grant-in-Aid in Higher Education Program wish to inform that the application online for the batch 11 of this scholarship program is now OPEN!

Brgy. San Jose in Caba, La Union is an interior barangay which is seven kilometres away from the town proper. Basically an agricultural area with around 100 existing households, going to and from the town proper is almost impossible especially with the continuing implementation of the enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Department of Agriculture - Regional Field Office I (DA-RFO I) sourced out free highland vegetables donated by farmers from Cordillera thru the Benguet State University- Agri-based Technology Business Incubation (BSU-ATBI) and were distributed to Persons with Disability (PWD) in Naguilian, La Union and fisherfolks in San Fernando City, La Union on April 30,2020.
