Keeping true to its battlecry “All for one, always number one”, the Department of Agriculture Regional Field Office I snatched the Gold Award during the 30th National Research Symposium won by researcher-presentor Mr. Mark Ariel Agresor, held at the Philippine International Convention Center, Pasay City on November 7-8, 2018.
Entitled “CPAR on the Integrated Rice-Based Farming System: An Approach Towards Community Driven Agricultural Development in Ilocos Norte”, the project aimed to enhance production management systems by increasing production efficiency as well as promote improved production technology for wider scale adoption and support agricultural productions for integrated rice-based farming communities.
Among the 176 papers submitted at the Bureau of Agricultural Research, 31 research papers scored 85% and above. The 31 finalists competed during the symposium proper for the AFMA Best R&D paper under the following categories: Basic Research, Applied Research TG/ IG/ TA/ TV Agriculture, Applied Research TG/ IG/ TA/ TV Fisheries, Socio-economics, and Development Research.
The best AFMA R&D gold awardee received a cash prize of P100,000 and will also receive a proposal-based research grant amounting to P2,000,000.
